The NIC has 71 member organizations with approximately 5,500 chapters located on 800+ campuses in the United States and Canada with approximately 350,000 undergraduate members. The NIC is led by a Board of Directors comprised of nine volunteers from member fraternities. The headquarters and professional staff are located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mississippi State's fraternity community is home to twelve NIC affiliated chapters, with two other chapters being affiliated with the Fraternity Leadership Association (FLA).
The Greek Leaders Conference at Mississippi State is an annual event and is focused on developing the leadership skills of current and rising fraternity and sorority members. The conference itself is student lead, with all aspects from logistics, registration, and programming being handled by student committee. This year, three members of the MSU fraternity community served on the student committee.
